In a 2003 episode of CPTV's Main Street, WNPR's Ray Hardman interviewed former NBA star Manute Bol about his life, career and humanitarian work in Sudan.

Mr. Bol passed away on Saturday, June 19 in Charlottesville, Virginia from kidney failure and complications from Stevens-Johnson syndrome, a rare skin disease.

The seven foot seven inch center had an eleven year career in the NBA playing for the Washington Bullets, the Golden State Warriors, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Miami Heat.  In 1984, Mr. Bol began playing for the University of Bridgeport where he gained notice for his acumen for blocking shots.  He was a resident of West Hartford from 2002 to 2004.
