In June, the Hartford City Council repealed a 33-year-old skateboarding ban on public streets and sidewalks.  WNPR's Ray Hardman spoke with Councilman Luis Cotto, the Hartford Business Improvement District's Jordan Polon, and Harford High School student Stephanie Rivera about the skateboarding ban, Hartford's skateboard culture, and plans for a skatepark at the New Ross Wexford County Park, which is located above the I-84 tunnel.

Nice work Htfd!

So awesome to see a group of people that get it! Especially the incorporation of other elements that cross over into the skateboard world and vice-versa. Now if only other towns and cities in CT would be as open minded as Hartford! (Middletown, I'm looking in your direction...)
