Beware the Fish of April

Today, all across France, children are attempting to hook paper fish onto the clothing of unsuspecting adults.  When the prank is discovered the children shout, "Poisson d'Avril!"

The tradition goes back to a sixteenth century story in which city folk made fun of peasants...a common theme in French holiday celebrations. Consider yourselves digitally "poissoned."
