The area of Hartford know as Elizabeth Park was once owned by statesman and industrialist Charles W. Pond.

Upon his death he bequeathed the estate to the City of Hartford and directed that it be used as a horticultural park and named for his late wife, Elizabeth.

Today the park covers some102 acres and includes many garden areas, pathways, lawns, recreation fields, and its prized jewel, the world famous Elizabeth Park Rose garden.

Videographer Mike Dunphy recently visited and discovered its many colors of summer in full bloom.
