How Did Connecticut Get Kicked Out of New England?

And here's a statement from Sue Norrington-Davies of Discover New England about how we got in this mess:

"DNE has been in existence since 1992 – we are the marketing organization for New England and our aim is to increase visitation from overseas with the primary markets of the UK and Germany. Each participating state pays equal dues of $100,000 in order for DNE to implement its marketing efforts. The CT Governor gave CT $1 tourism budget for FY10 which effectively meant CT had to withdraw from DNE – and they are also not participating in FY11. The Board voted to cease marketing CT in January of this year in fairness to the other NE states who are paying – hence the situation. We very much want CT back on board and hope this will be the case for FY12."
