Emmy Award winning documentary producer Jennifer Boyd, is the Executive Producer of Local Programming for Connecticut Public Television and owner of Boyd Productions, LLC. For 21 years, Jennifer has been producing, directing and writing award-winning documentaries for television and non-profit organizations. Her projects have taken her across the United States and to countries such as the Czech Republic, Kenya, Haiti, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Nigeria.
Over the past ten years, Jennifer has produced 6 documentaries for Connecticut Public Television that have been distributed nationally. She has also produced 12 energy related programs specifically for Connecticut audiences, as well as numerous other projects.
Some of Jennifer's recent projects include directing and executive producing the popular CPTV series All Things Connecticut, directing and co-producing Parents and Teens: Behind the Wheel, a follow-up to the Emmy Award winning, Teens: Behind the Wheel and directing, producing and writing The Blizzard of '78. When The Blizzard documentary aired this past February it was the highest rated local public television show in the country for its time period.
In the documentary Teens: Behind the Wheel, independently controlled cameras were used to monitor teen driving behavior for six months. Sections of the documentary have been shown on Good Morning America, Dateline, ABC World News Tonight and MSNBC, as well as numerous local news stations across the country. The documentary has also been written about in the New York Times, Providence Journal, Hartford Courant and other newspapers across the country. Both Parents and Teens: Behind the Wheel have received regional Emmy Awards and are currently airing on PBS stations nationwide.
Jennifer also enjoys working with numerous corporate clients, as well as non-profits and NGOs. She graduated cum laude from the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University.
