Judy Dworin
Bio

Judy Dworin is known for her socially charged, visually powerful dance theater pieces. She is the recipient of recent grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism in support of her work in performance and teaching. The Judy Dworin Performance Project was honored with the 2010 Hartford Courant Tapestry Award for "building bridges of understanding." Dworin is a Professor of Theater and Dance at Trinity College where she designed and instituted the dance program nearly 40 years ago. Her essay about her work with women incarcerated at York Correctional Institution appears in the recently published book, "Performing New Lives: Reflections on Prison Theatre in the United States."
