Kip Bergstrom
Bio

Kip has 30 years of experience as a strategist, business executive, economic development professional and urban place-maker.  His interests, writings and accomplishments span the full spectrum of economic development, including education and talent, transportation, entrepreneurship and technology commercialization, real estate development and place making, and the interface of the human network and the natural system.  Kip serves as Executive Director of the Stamford Urban Redevelopment Commission, the development agency for the City of Stamford, with the lead role in the redevelopment of downtown Stamford as one of the New York metro’s largest and most successful Transit-Oriented Developments.  Kip launched the civic conversation and strategy-in-action that is Reinventing Stamford.  One of the Action Teams that self-organized as part of the Reinventing Stamford initiative is focused on building an ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship.  Another is developing a concept called iTOD, for Innovation/Transit-Oriented Development, to network the innovation capabilities of Connecticut’s rail-connected cities.
