Another Wind Proposal For Connecticut

If built, "Colebrook North" would be part of the state's first wind farm.

BNE Energy has filed a petition with the Connecticut Siting Council to construct three wind turbines on Route 44 in Colebrook. The project, known as “Colebrook North”,  combined with a previous proposal for another three wind turbines called “Colebrook South” ---  would be Connecticut’s first commercial wind farm.

BNE says the projects would generate about $430,000 in tax revenues for Colebrook. But some residents are concerned about potential impacts from the turbines, such as noise.

The Connecticut Siting Council is charged with approving or rejecting commercial wind projects, like these. The Council has 60 days to set up a public hearing, issue a ruling or start to develop new regulations for wind projects.
