Bridgeport Voting Mess Topic Of Public Meeting Tonight
An election panel created by Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch meets tonight for a public meeting about widespread voting problems in the state's largest city.
12 voting precincts in the city ran out of ballots on Election Day leading a judge to order those precincts to stay open two hours later. Then counting of the ballots dragged on leading the state to wait for several days before a winner could be declared in Connecticut's Governor race.
Former Mayor Nicholas Panuzio is one of the chairs of the panel.
He spoke with WNPR's Lucy Nalpathanchil about what the panel has been tasked to do and how the city plans to restore voter confidence.
