Even before the latest round of problems, Mel Gibson had become the actor-director you could hate without actually seeing any of his movies.
How many people do you know who have even seen "The Passion of the Christ" or "Apocalypto?" He rarely acts anymore. And yet, we're having some kind of national dialogue about him as though he's somehow more significant than the garden variety creep in a bad relationship.
We'll discuss that today as well as a raft of other issues that don't really fall within the framework of sober, serious hard news but are, nonetheless, the kinds of things that people actually talk about in the lunchroom at work.
