Colin McEnroe Show: Conventionpalooza!
We're here at the Connecticut Convention Center getting ready for the next round of pitched political battles, and if you're a little confused -- at the end of this chaotic week -- I think I speak for Mr. Dankosky and our entire staff when I say we are only slightly less confused.
Every certainty in this political season has a knack for sliding out from under our feet. Tonight, Richard Blumenthal's Senate nomination was supposed to be an easy coronation. It will proceed as plan but with unanticipated trepidation.
On the Republican side, Linda McMahon's campaign claims to be the author of Blumenthal's misfortunes, an irony, because the swing in the campaign seems to have strengthened the hand of her immediate opponent, Rob Simmons.
And so goes tonight. Tomorrow brings floor fights over the gubernatorial race and the underticket.
