Colin McEnroe Show: Do We Really Have To Celebrate Our One Year Anniversary?
Because Colin and Patrick aren't comfortable with this.

When I think about the first weeks of this show in September of 2009, I kind of want to hold my head. It seems to me it was a long time before we did a really good one. I was trying to unlearn 16 years of commercial talk radio.
Producer Patrick Skahill and announcer Chion Wolf and I were all trying to learn each other.
It took a while, but gradually we began to experience the thrill of walking out of the studio knowing you've done pretty much the show you went in there to do.
It doesn't happen every day, but it happens enough. If we have a goal, it's to take you on journeys you weren't expecting to go on. So rather than do an anniversary show celebration today, we decided to do a show about the stress and anxiety that, for some of us, accompanies the idea of celebrating. Also, for all we know, you're having a lousy day. The last thing you want to hear is us whooping it up.
We also want to thank you. Than you for listening. Thank you for sending us so many great ideas and suggestions. Thank you for all your support during this first year. Here's to many more! And be sure to leave your comments below, e-mail colin@wnpr.org or Tweet us @wnprcolin.

Colin's Chortle
I love the show and especially Colin's chortle, it's infectious and always makes me smile. Actually, it's the best definitive chortle I've ever heard so keep up the great,off-the cough, I mean cuff, best not-so-new but invaluable radio show at 1 pm. P.S. start pushing for an evening rebroadcast slot, you deserve it! Chion rocks-stay insanely impromptu, it makes my day.
You all do a great job,
You all do a great job, congratulations on one year. Many more.

I feel your pain about having to do with the fact that your show is a success. So, here’s the good news to try and cheer you up, maybe. When your show started I so missed Robin Young from Here and Now on WBUR. It was such a loss, especially compared to the stuff you were throwing out at the beginning. Stopped listening to WNPR at 1:00 pm. Well, I hope that helps. So, now for the bad news. You and Chion kind of grew on me, sooo, now I listen whenever I can. Sorry for the bad news, but congratulations on the 1 year anniversary.
