Colin McEnroe Show: Live From The Festival Of Arts And Ideas
Live coverage of the Festival of Arts and Ideas from the Study at Yale.
One of our big commitments on this show is to an approach that, whenever possible, melts the walls between categories. We like to look at a thing in as many ways as possible, which is one reason we came down to New Haven today for the International Festival of Arts and Ideas.
For two weeks, the festival brings in performers and thinkers from all over the world in a way that tears down walls and pulls events out of their familiar sequences. A play can take place in a park with no actor present, only a iPod and a map to guide you through its plot.
"Moby Dick" is suddenly a one man show -- and an Irish one at that.
And while all that is happening there are bicycle trips in pursuit of New Haven history and Iraqi-American jazz trumpet and dulcimer players and, well ... even a show in which I will appear.
We're live at The Study on Chapel Street covering this year's International Festival of Arts and Ideas. You can join the conversation. Leave your comments below, Tweet @wnprcolin or e-mail colin@wnpr.org.
