Colin McEnroe Show: Music You Need To Hear
And would have found on your own (if you just had the time ... )
One of the paradoxes of modern life is the profusion of imaginative and pleasing music, often produced by artists working outside the pipeline of mainstream pop, and the impossibility of finding it.
Maybe impossible is the wrong word, but I think you know what I mean. I'm dimly aware that I'd probably like "Of Montreal," if I had the time to sit down and expose myself to the music.
Getting ready for today's show, I found a band called Half-Handed Cloud, and they kind of grabbed me, but there's just no way I would have found Half-Handed Cloud if I weren't preparing for a show on music I'm not aware of.
Part of the problem is that we spend so much time chewing up other kinds of content: articles, video, tweets, posts.
The other part of the problem is that we live in the Golden Age of the Small Artist. And small, by definition, is harder to see, right?
