Colin McEnroe Show: Parsing Connecticut's Pre-Primary Politics
As the elections heat up, experts weigh in on races around the state.
In an ordinary year, at least three of the races for congress in Connecticut would merit extensive coverage.
This year, we can barely do them justice, because the ranks of reporters continue to shrink and because there is so much news, with politicians attempting to use a new public financing system, which nobody fully understands and with wide open races for so many major offices.
Last month's blockbuster stories are nearly forgotten as new ones rear up.
Sitting on top of all the stories we'll discuss today is one big one. There's a statewide primary on Aug. 10 and, if you're registered with either party, your participation will be vital. In many towns there will contests from the top of the ticket all the way down to state legislative races. So even if the stuff we talk about today makes you a little dizzy, please make a plan to vote.
