Colin McEnroe Show: Super Bowl 101 With Mike Pesca

I've been a Packer's fan since I was about 14 years old.

People ask me why.  Am I from Wisconsin? No. Did I get hooked during the glory years of Lombardi and Bart Starr? Nope. When I started liking them, they had recently become awful and they stayed pretty awful for a long time. I lived through Scott Hunter. Randy Wright. David Whitehurst. If you were a Packer fan, you would know what sad stories I am evoking.

I picked the Packers because I was late, relatively speaking, in deciding to care at all about pro football. Most of my friends were Giants fans. I didn't want to follow the pack so I followed the Pack.

Eventually, in the nineties, after decades of suffering, they got a lot better. But I still managed to miss having a positive Super Bowl experience, even when the Packers were having one. I'll tell that story today.

You'll also hear from WNPR's John Dankosky, who's braving the snowverdose on the sunny shores of Puerto Rico.
