Colin McEnroe Show: What Laws Govern Connecticut Recounts?
Right after our show today, we found out Republican Tom Foley was ready to concede the gubernatorial election to Dan Malloy.
But the story isn't over yet. The Connecticut Republican Party has asked the chief State's Attorney's Office and the federal justice department for an investigation of irregularities in the Bridgeport vote count.
There are reports that the sitting governor, M. Jodi Rell may form a blue ribbon panel to recommend reforms that address some of the confusions of last Tuesday night.
And the relevant state statute seems to leave room for other people -- just regular old electors -- to file their own motions.
Don't be surprised if some version of the Tea Party gets involved. We talk election law and check in with some reporters around the state on today's show.
