Ellis Island, Oral Histories
Exploring your family tree has become increasingly popular and easier because of online resources like ancestry.com
The genealogy website has just launched a new feature. It's a collection of oral histories from 1,700 people who passed through Ellis Island from the late 1890s.
The interviews were done by the National Park Service and previously the only way you could hear the stories was by visiting the immigration museum on Ellis Island.
WNPR's Lucy Nalpathanchil speaks to Senior Director of U.S Content for ancestry.com, Todd Godfrey about the oral histories.
You can access them by visiting www.ancestry.com/immigration
