Faith Middleton Show: A Game Of Character
New book from Michelle Obama's brother

What Fraser and Marian Robinson created for their children on the Southside of Chicago was a life of riches - safety, intimacy, humor, playfulness, courage, curiosity, encouragement, discipline and respect. If we give out Oscars for movies, shouldn't there be a Nobel Prize for parenting, for offering the kind of unconditional love and wisdom the Robinsons offered their children? In a way, this memoir is a monument to the perfect parents the author was and is blessed to have. Craig Robinson, now the basketball coach at Oregon State, left a high-paying job in the financial world to pursue his dream: coaching, passing on the gift his parents gave him. Craig's story is told in this book, A Game of Character. It starts with a description of his day to day life in Chicago, where, growing up, his family squeezed into a tiny apartment. What they lacked in financial resources, they made up for in love. Through his parent's encouragement, Craig and his sister discovered the joy of learning; they would both graduate from Princeton University, and both pursue graduate work. Alongside the story of his family life, the parallel story line in the book is about Craig's sister and her husband on their journey - His sister is First Lady Michele Robinson Obama.
