Connecticut's Hockey Band: The Zambonis
Produced by WNPR's Patrick Skahill
If you're a fan of the Bruins or the Rangers, it's looking pretty good your team is heading to playoff action in mid April.
Besides catching all the games to satisfy your hockey cravings, you could also listen to a Connecticut band that sings about hockey.
They're called the Zambonis, of course! And singer and guitarist, Dave Schneider, known as "Captain" spoke with WNPR's Lucy Nalpathanchil about the band and its newest album "Five Minute Major in D Minor."

WE LOVE THE ZAMBONIS!
Thank you so much for doing justice to my families favorite band (not just hockey band) in the past 15 years. It started with my kids liking the music when they played hockey but it was much more than that. Musically, the band is miles ahead of 95% of all bands out there. If these were songs about things other than hockey (even know many are about so much more) these could be hits. It's a shame they are not recognized in a much bigger way. Thanks again for a great interview. Regards, The Streit family
ps Thanks for using "Captain" off the new record. That song is exactly what these guys do so well. Life lessons. You nailed it.
