Malloy Easily Defeats Lamont
Malloy has defeated Lamont in the democratic gubernatorial primary

Former Stamford Mayor Dan Malloy has defeated Ned Lamont in the democratic gubernatorial primary.
City Steam in Hartford was literally shaking with exhuberant Dan Malloy supporters Tuesday night. Malloy was able to capitalize on recent wave of momentum to defeat his primary opponent Ned Lamont. Just eight weeks ago Lamont had a 17 percentage point lead over Malloy in a Quinnipiac University poll. Monday that lead had diminished to just three percentage points. But Malloy's victory by 16 percentage points surprised even the loyal supporters of Malloy congregating at City Steam. Malloy says it all came down to a well run campaign:
Malloy's running mate, state comptroller Nancy Wyman defeated her primary opponent Mary Glassman 64 to 39 percent. Malloy now faces Republican gubernatorial candidate, former ambassador Tom Foley in the November.
