The Nose: Men Behaving Badly & 'Too Soon' Comedy
Garrison Keillor has announced that he'll retire in 2013.
You know, I'm on public radio. I write humor. I sing. I dress funny. I've had a complicated personal life. Really, they wouldn't miss a beat. I am totally going to audition. The way things are going these days, I'll audition, and they'll tell me they want Chion Wolf but I can go home.
"Prairie Home Companion" has preserved several important traditions of live performance including the whole notion that you actually have to be able to do something if you're going to be live, onstage.
That notion is in great jeopardy these days. For example, Charlie Sheen is launching a tour of live performances which will include a stop in Wallingford at the Oakdale. But what does Charlie Sheen do? Muse? Rave? Also on tour but without a talent, Larry King and reality star Bethenny Frankel.

I'm not sure I can see The Donald as President. Perhaps he could be Sarah Palin's VP.

For what it's worth, the Wolf/ Barber chemistry is terrific! Perfect for Friday.

Be warned Colin McEnroe and your sweat shop NPR cronies who have kept Cion Wolf hostage in Dankoski Tower for far too long. There is an uprising starting that will free her from the shackles of NPR oppression. Every time I turn NPR on be it week-end or holiday morning or afternoon Cion is always there. She manages to change her tone on a dime as she goes from show to show announcing British Clockmakers and dentists who cater to cowards with all the ease and professionalism as Casey Cassum or that guy Rich on Price is Right. Because I love her and although I would miss her I feel that somebody has to advocate for her. She deserves a day off or even a small vacation. Please let her leave the studio once in awhile. The rest of the world needs her too.
