Where We Live: Anne Applebaum On A Changing Europe
And, an update on "Don't ask Don't Tell"
Anne Applebaum has covered the collapse of communism and the transformation of Europe. She’s a columnist for The Washington Post, who’s been sending back dispatches from Europe for years.
Her 2003 book, Gulag: A History, won a Pulitizer Prize for non-fiction. Today, she’s in Connecticut, taking part in a conversation about contemporary Poland at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain. It’s happening tonight at 7pm at Torp Theater in the university’s Davidson Hall.
Today we talk about Poland – of course – but also about the changes in Europe Anne Applebaum’s been covering. Join the conversation – especially If you or your family come from eastern Europe. What changes have you seen in the former soviet states? Email or tweet us with your questions.
Later, we’ll catch up with Katherine Miller, a former West Point cadet who quit over Don’t ask Don’t tell…we’ll get her reaction to a federal judge's ruling – that stops the military from enforcing the controversial ban.
