Where We Live: Is Connecticut Going Broke?

A new study says that by 2019 Connecticut’s state employee pension will be broke.

Connecticut Mirror state budget reporter Keith Phaneuf reports that our state will be one of seven that will run out of money to pay pension over the next decade. 

Just more bad news in an unforgiving budget crisis. The next Governor has a big job – so what’s each candidate’s plan to solve it? 

Meanwhile this session, the legislature did have time to pass a few new laws which will be going into effect tomorrow, including small fee increases at the DMV, protecting student athletes from concussions, and charter school education reform.   Coming up, Senate President Don Williams will talk about some of this new legislation and Keith Phaneuf joins us in studio to talk dollars and cents.
