Where We Live: A Look Back At Political Ads

Enjoy this brief respite from the barrage of political ads.. because soon enough…they’ll be back.

Are you surprised to learn that 2010 was the most negative election in recent history?  Not really, huh?

That non-surprising finding is just one of the many things The Wesleyan Media Project learned, as they tracked and analyzed political ads this past season.

And I mean all ads….aired by or on behalf of federal and state election candidates in every media market in the country.

Today, where we live, we’ll look back at what they found…the big trends, including how corporate and union money was flowing into these races.   Since the Supreme Court’s “Citizen’s United” ruling, it’s been harder to track where all this money for negative ads is coming from.

We’ll hear about the implications for the upcoming ad storm of 2012.
