Starting next year, light bulbs will have to be more energy efficient.

The federal regulation signed into law in 2007 (yes, prior to the Obama administration) has some people stocking up on incandescent light bulbs.

A New York Times article says these people have “profound light bulb anxiety.” Some are buying hundreds...if not thousands of traditional, incandescent light bulbs. They fear the harsh blue light of a world lit by compact fluorescent lights.

It’s part of a global phase out of the traditional Thomas Edison models - which use energy to create heat and light. But what will this world look like?

We’ll hear from opposite sides of the battle over light bulb regulation...talk about possible environmental impacts from mercury...and look into present and future lighting technology that might brighten your day.
