Where We Live: Two Different Democrats
They’re both Democrats, but Jonathan Pelto and Patrick Scully don’t exactly see eye-to-eye.
Their differences largely stem from the recently ratified labor concessions deal.
Pelto - a progressive former state lawmaker - was disappointed in Governor Malloy’s handling of the deal and said he wanted his 2010 vote back.
Scully - a communications consultant and Democratic insider - thinks that party critics like Pelto should count their blessings...at least Republican Tom Foley didn’t win in November.
Today, we talk with Pelto and Scully about their disagreements over the job governor Malloy has done, and what it means to be a “good Democrat” in 2011.

Scully and Pelto
Who cares that these two Dem. insiders are feuding? I listened to most of this show, hoping it would get better, but instead hearing almost an hour of what sounded to me like a "spitting" contest between a couple of annoying wonks. Disappointed that WWL would devote so much precious airtime to it.
Why not raise taxes more than
Why not raise taxes more than they are already. I mean heck with the small business man or woman who is having a tough time making ends meet. But why not just tax us more and then more people will head to other parts of the country.
When we hear things from Pat
When we hear things from Pat Scully, it's important to remember State Senate Dems sent him packing because he couldn't keep himself in check/they knew he was too much of a loose cannon/a liability to the party. VERY few people lose those gigs who aren't directly moving on to another one.
The Hanging Shad?!
Puhleeze.
Give us a break.
Listener email from Yao:
I pretty much agree with Gov. Malloy’s handling of this economic crisis in CT.
We Democrats should not forget the fact that states are competing ferociously to attract businesses and corporations; therefore this is not the time to chase them away. Not when unemployment is this high. The UBS example in Stamford, CT is just one of many...
The ONLY thing I hate about him is the new sales tax rate. 6.35% or…something????? Come on Malloy, get a simple umber and make it easier for everybody. Just make it 7% !!!
