Where We Live: Washington Desk
Lawmakers have finally reached a deal on the financial services bill

Lawmakers in the House and Senate have finally reached a deal on the financial services bill that’s meant to avert another crisis.
The joint conference committee negotiated until the early morning hours, crafting a bill that was filled with compromise. And, not surprisingly, those compromises stripped away some of the toughest regulations against Wall Street firms.
Today, where we live, we’ll check in with our Washington desk to find out what’s left in this bill – what’s left out – and what role Senator Chris Dodd had in getting the bill close to passage.
We’ll also talk about how the economy has hit the investments of our delegation, and candidates for Senate, about food safety legislation being pushed by Rosa DeLauro and we’ll check in with an investigative reporter from ProPublica – who’s following the BP oil spill.
We'll also hear from Gov. Jodi Rell with the latest on the State of Emergency declared yesterday in Bridgeport.
