Where We Vote: Larry DeNardis
If elected, Larry DeNardis would declare a state of fiscal emergency

The field for Governor is narrowing all the time, but some lesser-known candidates seem like they're in it for the long-haul. Today brings us news that Mark Boughton, Danbury Mayor and Republican candidate will be joining the ticket of current Lt. Governor Mike Fedele. That leaves Tom Foley, the free-spending Greeenwich businessman, as a clear front-runner heading into this weekend's convention. And, it leaves just a few candidates left in the pack.
Among them is Larry Denardis, a former 3rd district congressman who, as his official bio points out, is: "The only Republican to ever defeat Joe Lieberman in a general election in Connecticut." He also served as President of the University of New Haven, and has just released a new "Republican Roadmap to Recovery."
Today, we continue our Where We Vote series with a conversation with Larry DeNardis---leave your comments and questions below.

I think the mood of the voters is such that a number of new Republicans will be elected to the State House and Senate. The new Governor will have that political capital to draw on.

Memories from the '50's
I'm sure you don't remember me, Larry but, if I remember correctly, we worked together; remember Si Grossman's "Alpert's"? We worked in the stockroom. You also graduated HHS the year before me. If you don't remember me you might remember my uncle, Morris Gamm or my mother, Helen Weiner.
I'd like to hear from you.
Regards and good luck.
