Where We Vote: Foley Takes Lead Into Primary
New Q Poll Says Foley Is More Popular Than Ever

On the surface, this coulda been a bad week for Tom Foley – stalled in court while trying to stop a rival from getting campaign money – slammed in the papers over Iraq and arrests - then come the numbers.
And those numbers show – well, Foley’s more popular than ever in a contest with other GOP challengers for the nomination for governor. A Quinnipiac poll out today shows he’s widened his lead over Lt. Governor Mike Fedele to 35 points, and it shows that a majority of those who’ve heard news about his two arrests in the 80's and 90's don’t think it’s a big deal.
Today, where we live, we’ll continue our where we vote series, as we close in on the august 10th primary, and we’ll give you a chance to ask questions of Republican Tom Foley

The solution to connecticut's problems is not more revenues. We need to reduce Government spending.

Since Mr. Foley wants to shrink gov't & spending, w/out finding ways to increase revenue, will he therefore refuse to receive the governor's salary? ie. put his money where his mouth is and NOT waste government spending on himself?

Which industries are the "future of CT"? My husband was laid off from a manufacturing job that's gone overseas, there are countless trade schools glutting the market with misled hopefuls into low wage positions - if they can find them at all - our college graduates are leaving the state - can you please be specific about what is the future of employment in CT just so we know whether or not there's a future here for us who have lived here our entire lives?

It's almost hard to believe what I'm hearing during this interview. Mr. Foley has at least $8 million spare cash and wants to cut pensions of people like the doctor who called in saying he is a state employee? He wants to think about "efficiency" at UConn? Of course, all institutions can be more efficient, including his own businesses, I'm sure. If he is indeed interested in helping the people of CT he should donate some of his money to the state university and community college system for student tuition and forget running for governor.
Is this man completely unselfaware?
