Morning Edition: Innovative Teaching Funded by Grant

It's rare these days that a school, any school, receives a windfall out of the blue.  But that's exactly what happened Monday at the Common Ground Charter High School in New Haven, when they learned that one of their teachers won first place in the ING Unsung Heroes Award program.   Today we talk with that award-winning teacher, Jeremy Stone.

Go Jeremy, go Common Ground!

One of the things that wasn't relevant to this interview is that Common Ground also hosts a bevy of community activities and a lovely summer camp. My four and a half year old went this year and had a truly enriching and fun experience hiking, holding chickens, doing a little bit of help around the gardens and animals and learning a ton about the environment of the urban farm and school. And, PS, I happen to know Jeremy and his family as well, and he so deserves this lovely recognition. Congratulations!!
